What are Laminating Films?

Adhesive: Lamination is a self adhesive BOPP film coated with a soft acrylic adhesive suitable for laminating. The soft acrylic adhesive gives a good flow and eleminates "fish eyes".
Non-Adhesive: Laminating Film is a single structure Bi-axially orientated polyproylene film, specially designed to protect an image from moisture and rough handling damage. The very smooth surface protects the film from dirt and dust, increasing durability.

BOPP overlaminate for label printers

Our self-adhesive laminating film is a BOPP film coated with a soft acrylic adhesive. It is made to protect the label surface and keep moisture out of the label. The soft adhesive flows well and eliminates "fish eyes", so the printed face stays clear.

For narrow-web flexo and digital label presses, we can supply the film slit to your web width, and help you choose the right film for your face stock and finish. Our slitting facility handles widths from 3 mm up to 1500 mm and rolls up to 3000 m long.

Clear, 23 micron (crystal clear): 1000 / 2000 m, 14 g coating weight, code L023
Clear, 38 micron (anti-creasing): 1000 / 2000 m, 26 g coating weight
Matt: 1000 / 2000 m, 14 g coating weight
Adhesive: soft acrylic

Non-adhesive BOPP laminating film is also available: clear 12 micron (L012) and 15 micron matt (L015), both 2000 m and corona treated on both sides.

Widths and lengths: Available in, among others:
12 micron (L012): common widths 250, 300, 320 and 330mm, on 2000m rolls
15 micron matt (L015): 320 and 330mm, on 2000m rolls
23 micron self-adhesive (L023): 1000m or 2000m rolls, common widths 100, 200 and 250mm
30 micron matt (LM030): 1000m rolls, common widths 200, 300 and 320mm

Q: Do you supply overlaminate film for label printing in South Africa?

Q: Can you slit laminating film to my press width?
A: Yes, we slit to your web width. Our slitting facility handles widths from 3 mm up to 1500 mm and rolls up to 3000 m long. Tell us your press and web width and we will quote.

Q: Which film should I use, clear or matt?
A: Choose the finish that suits your label design. Crystal clear 23 micron is the lightest; 38 micron is anti-creasing. Send us your face stock and we will advise on the best match.

Q: Will the laminate leave bubbles or "fish eyes"?
A: The soft acrylic adhesive gives good flow and eliminates fish eyes.
